One of the more endearing plays to emerge from the WWII era, Mister Roberts takes place aboard the US Navy cargo ship AK-601, operating in the Pacific. The men hate the tyrannical captain but feel great affection for Mr. Roberts, one of the officers. The play laced in comic incidents; is mainly about Roberts attempts to get transferred to combat duty, his relationship with his men and his conflict with the captain.!
